Step into the dazzling—and dangerous—world of ancient Persia, where palace walls hide whispered plots, loyalty is tested at every turn, and the fate of an entire people hangs in the balance. Chosen: For Such a Time as This is a Christian Vacation Bible School program for children ages 6–12 that brings to life the incredible story of Esther, a young woman chosen by God to stand courageously in a moment that would change history.

Set in the majestic court of Xerxes, this program immerses children in a dramatic biblical narrative filled with intrigue, risk, and faith. Through the events recorded in the Book of Esther, kids discover how God works behind the scenes—even when His name is never spoken—to protect His people and fulfill His purposes.

As the story unfolds, children explore themes of courage, obedience, identity, and trust in God. They learn that Esther’s royal position was not an accident, but part of a greater plan, and that standing up for what is right often requires bravery, wisdom, and faith. Each session invites kids to wrestle with big questions: Will Esther speak? Will God deliver His people? What does it mean to be chosen?

Designed to be engaging, age-appropriate, and flexible for churches of all sizes, Chosen: For Such a Time as This can be used for a traditional VBS week, a multi-day program, or a special Bible story event. Whether experienced on its own or alongside other Ana-Genesis VBS programs, Chosen helps children see that God places each of us where we are for a reason—and that even in the face of danger, God’s plan is greater than any enemy’s scheme.
